Some catching up...

2010 started at an unrelenting pace and we are still catching up. I cannot beleive it is the middle of March. We have reached a few milestones in the last 3 months. We successfully transitioned Lily off of her nighttime bottle. To call it just a bottle is an understatement because it was her security blanket, soother and sometimes best friend. Nonetheless, bye-bye bottle. Yeah for us and Lily! Lily has also transitioned to big girl underwear- she refuses to wear diapers now and for the most part is potty trained. We have accidents here and there mostly when she is playing, but she is making it through the night without a problem. Our almost 2 1/2 year old is growing up.

Lily has an absolute love for puzzles...she can put together a 25 piece puzzle in a flash. It is so fun to watch her work out the pieces and to watch Mark trying to get her to follow his way of doing it, "no Lily- we have to start with all of the straight edges first."

The other day Lily was playing in the back yard and two of our neighbors' children came over to talk to Lily. Lily invited them into the house to play. It was the first time she played independently with other kids without needing me close to her. They were upstairs playing with her dolls and running through the house. I was so happy to hear those sounds in the house and can't wait for more. It was cute to see Lily interact that way. A few days later, she asked me to go over to Nina's house so that she could get her to come over and play again. I am a little sad for Lily because she is just a little too young for these girls who are 4 and almost 5. She wants so much to be a part of their lives and gets excluded because she is a little younger. Normal, but my heart breaks for her as she asks to be a part of the group and can't because they are doing something that is not appropriate for her.

We continue to love our new neighborhood and are closer to being settled in the house. The list is long but dwindling.

We are headed out to our friend Nancy's ranch next week for spring break with Mark's sister and my inlaws. HOpefully, I will get some good pictures and they will end up on this blog!
